That being said, flowers are a lot like us, and a little love and care goes a long way. To get the maximum life and enjoyment out of your flowers, follow these handy tips:

1. Remove flowers from their wrap and cut 2cm off the end of the stems at a 45-degree angle
2. Fill your favourite clean vase with fresh, lukewarm water
3. Remove any leaves that fall below the water line in the vase
4. Find a home for your arrangement in a cool place out of direct sunlight
5. To maximise the longevity of your flowers, replace the water in the vase every day.
